The project objective is to achieve measurable reductions in levels of POPs and mercury in priority Mediterranean coastal hot spots and catchment areas. Project’s Chemicals and Waste component aims for: i) Management and disposal of 2,000 tonnes of POPs; ii) Management and safe storage of 50 tonnes of mercury wastes; iii) New POPs reduction and alternatives pilot activities completed; iv) Mercury reduction through pilot activities on mercury alternatives in hospitals.
